UPDATE 13 MAY 2020 - COVID-19 Cancellation policy
Your safety is paramount to us. We continue to closely monitor state and federal government restrictions in regards to COVID-19. We are hopeful of resuming training events in July in small numbers to allow for social distancing within the training venue. We will cancel or postpone a course if we feel it is not safe to proceed for any reason or if restricted by government authorities; or it is not possible for our trainer to travel.
We encourage you to select 'Payment by invoice' when you register to allow for more seamless payment and refund processes.
In the event we have to cancel or postpone a course because of COVID-19 OR you test positive for COVID-19 and are able to provide evidence of this and cannot attend, we will provide you with 3 options:
- receive a full refund
- attend the course at the later date
- transfer you to our UX Essentials online training course to allow you to complete your training online AND attend one of our full day collaborative workshops which will be scheduled twice each year in Brisbane and one other city to learn and experience collaborative UX workshop techniques (when safe to proceed with these).
In the event of any course cancellations or postponements, PeakXD will not be responsible for any travel costs incurred by registered participants. We encourage participants to book refundable and flexible travel for all of our training courses.
Payment conditions and options
Pay by invoice
Payment by invoice is only available for attendance at one of our scheduled courses (booked through Eventbrite). Full payment is due within 7 days of registration or the day before the first day of the event (whichever date comes sooner). Some exceptions are made for government attendees to accommodate purchasing policies. The invoice will be sent to the email address provided at registration and can be paid by Credit Card or by depositing funds into our bank account (as per instructions on invoice). Should you need longer than 7 days please contact us as we understand some large organisations may require more time. Note a credit card processing fee will be charged if you pay the invoice by credit card.
Pay by finance
You have the option to pay for the course through finance with our quality lender Study Loans (eligibility criteria applies). You must be 18 years of age or older, An Australian citizen or permanent resident, able to demonstrate that you can service the loan, employed full-time, part-time or casual (for at least 6 months) and have a mobile number or email address. After you register for our program we will hold a place for you for up to 7 days. If your loan application with Study Loans has not been completed and approved we reserve the right to release your spot to someone else. If Study Loans reject your application you can still pay for the course with a credit card or through a bank deposit. Contact us if you need to make alternative arrangements.
Note: Fees and interest paid to Study Loans are on top of the course cost and are non refundable from PeakXD. Any refund requests are to be made directly to us, and Study Loans will issue you with the refund less any fees and interest charges in line with the contract you signed with them at the time of your loan application. Cancellation of course
In the event that PeakXD postpones or cancels a course (e.g. due to insufficient numbers), attendees can elect to receive a full refund or have their payment transferred to a future course. PeakXD will in no way be liable for any travel costs incurred by registered participants. You are encourage to book flexible or refundable travel if attending training away from your home.
We reserve the right to change the venue to equivalent standard and location within 5km of the CBD of the booked city.
Confirmation of your registration
In order to assure quality training and service, numbers are limited. Please note payment is required to reserve and keep a place in our courses. Your registration is confirmed once you register online but may cancelled if payment is not received within 7 days unless alternative arrangements have been organised in writing.
Enrolments will be considered confirmed once a tax invoice is issued and the cancellation policy will apply once the invoice is issued.
Face-to-face courses through Eventbrite: After confirmation of enrolment, cancellations received 30 days or more prior to the course commencement date will incur a 25% administration fee. Cancellations received less than 30 days are non refundable. Attendees can be substituted at any time.
Unable to attend due to illness
More than 7 days prior to course commencement
In regards to general illness that you cannot attend a course and you able able to provide us with more than 7 days notice prior to course commencement we will offer a full refund if requested in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org along with evidence in the form of a medical certificate confirming you are not fit to attend.
7 days or less before course commencement
In regards to illness where you are unable to provide us with notice more than 7 days prior to course commencement (e.g. you wake up sick and cannot attend on one of the days), unfortunately we cannot offer any refund due to incurred catering and venue costs but we can offer you the following:
- the ability to attend the missed days at the next scheduled course in your city OR
- access to our online UX training portal so that they can watch online lessons of the syllabus areas missed.
If cancelling less than than 7 days, you must notify us in writing to email@example.com prior to 9am on the day of training that you are unable to attend and as soon as feasible, you must provide either a statuary declaration or a medical certificate that you were unable to attend on the day due to sickness (i.e. not just "I got busy at work").
BCS Exam Vouchers
Pearson Vue / BCS exam vouchers are issued to attendees who have purchased a course that includes the BCS Certification (including UX Course & Certification tickets for in-person courses and the UX Accelerator 12 week program). Once issued they can not be cancelled or refunded. Vouchers will expire within 12 months of issue date. If lost we cannot reissue you with a new code. If you have lost your voucher contact us and we can tell you the voucher code as we have them all allocated in our secure CMS.
Limit of liability
PeakXD is not liable or responsible for any travel costs or loss or damage as a result of a substitution, cancellation, or postponement of an event. PeakXD shall assume no liability whatsoever if this event is altered, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled due to a fortuitous event, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this seminar inadvisable, illegal, impracticable or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but shall not be limited to: an Act of God; governmental restrictions and/or regulations; war or apparent act of war; terrorism or apparent act of terrorism; disaster; civil disorder, disturbance, and/or riots; curtailment, suspension, and/or restriction on transportation facilities/means of transportation; unavailability of the trainer due to sickness or health or any other emergency. We will give at least 2 weeks notice in the event of cancellation due to insufficient numbers.
